Muqdisho(HNN):-Somali Attorney General Suleiman Mohamud has formed a three-member task force to investigate the disappearance of a female spy agent for over a month now.

A statement from the AG’s office noted that the team comprises one member each from the police, intelligence agency, NISA and the Attorney General’s office.

“The Office of the Prosecutor of the Armed Forces has accepted the opening of the case file submitted by the relatives of the missing NISA official, Ikraan Tahliil,” the statement read in part.

The Somali National Intelligence Service (NISA) agent, believed to be in her 20’s,  reportedly left her home on the evening of June 26 and boarded a vehicle a few metres away and has never been seen to date.

According to the former Somali intelligence chief Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbaloolshe, Ikraan joined NISA in 2017.

Outspoken MP Mahat Salat claimed last week he had received information that the missing agent was privy to the list of young Somali men sent to Eritrea for military training and that she had been disappeared by senior NISA officials.

The agent’s family has demanded answers from the Federal Government on her whereabouts.
